Alison O'Sullivan

Trustee

Alison joined the National House Project as a trustee in January 2026.

She qualified a social worker in 1978 working for many years in inner city Bradford and went on work in senior local authority and health roles until retirement in 2016. She has deep experience of operational and partnership working in local, regional and national systems for children and adults.

Alison was President of the Association of Directors of Children’s Services in 2015/16 and has been engaged in national policy and influencing roles for the last 15 years.

In retirement, Alison continues to champion children’s issues, notably for children’s mental health, children in care and care experienced adults. She continues to support charities, including through a recent role as chair for the National Children’s Bureau and a new role as trustee for Coram Children’s Legal Centre.

Alison is passionate about young people co-producing, leading and challenging work to improve support and ways of working.
